Properly locating of buried utilities can avoid costly
outages and avoid major hazards associated with inadvertent contact during
excavation. While it is important to utilize the best products available, it is
equally as important to adhere to the best and safest practices to assure a safe
and productive job site. Radiodetection, the world leader in the design and
manufacture of underground locating equipment, provides equipment and practices
needed to assure optimum accuracy and safety for every locate scenario.
Highest performance
The RD4000 utilizes a powerful and advanced digital measurement and
processing system that is far ahead of any other available system. The patented
signal-processing algorithm provides improved performance and accurate results,
even in the most congested of areas. Users will quickly discover that the RD4000
always delivers repeatable accurate locates, even in the most difficult of
circumstances.
Multiple modes
Radiodetection provides various RD4000 industry specific platforms that are
designed to address specific user needs. Recognizing that there is no single
locating mode or frequency guaranteed to locate a given pipe or cable, the
RD4000 is available with different configurations to optimize the individual
line locating or fault locating needs. Increasingly many companies are
outsourcing utility line locating and GPS/GIS utility mapping to
utility-locating specialists and the RD4000 provides the ideal solution for
multiple utility locating. The RD4000 PDL platform which can hold up to 16
active frequencies and 4 passive frequencies has quickly become the industry
standard for multiple utility production locating. Whatever the locating
requirement, there is a professional RD4000 solution to meet your needs.
Ease of use
Repeatability and ease-of-use is delivered through the ergonomic design and
custom ability of the RD4000. A large, clear, automatically backlit LCD Display
and a highly responsive gain control paddle gives the RD4000 an unmatched
confidence by users of all levels. It is through attention to detail that
Radiodetection has delivered a powerful and sophisticated tool that is simple to
use.
Extended capabilities
The RD4000 family of locators is supported by a wide range of plug-andplay
accessories, such as fault locating A-Frames for locating cable sheath faults or
pipe coating defects, receiver clamps, stethoscopes for cable identification,
GPS communication cables and more. Users can line locate and/or fault locate
with the same versatile RD4000PDL receiver. RD4000 receivers provide seamless
integration with most GPS receivers and data recording devices, making the
RD4000 perfect for both novice and advanced users.

unwanted interference
-
Optimized locating whatever the utility or pipe
material (metallic or non-metallic) large or small
-
Alerts the user to the presence of shallow power cables
Within the worldwide construction industry buried utilities
(even previously located) represent a major hazard. Excavations that are not
properly planned can endanger construction workers, often resulting in costly
repairs, delays and personal injury. The RD2000 receiver and T1 transmitter
apply the latest technology in locating these services. While Passive location
provides a sweep for buried cables and pipes, the best tool for accurate
pinpointing of cables, pipes and drains is an active frequency. However there is
no single frequency suited to all utilities, size and topology. Therefore
Radiodetection has developed the RD2000 range; optimized pinpoint location from
not one or two, but three frequencies. Whatever your location needs there is an
RD2000 model to address them, all with 3 active frequencies.
THREE ACTIVE LOCATE FREQUENCIES
Buried services utilize multiple materials and sizes. The operator needs to not
only locate his particular pipe or cable but those of other utilities repeatedly
with speed, accuracy and ease. This is often while operating in constrained
areas. Radiodetection has recognized that even locating with 2 active
frequencies is limiting. Therefore, we have introduced the RD2000 with three
active frequencies to address the broad needs of all the utility sectors. Depth
readout is provided where signals permit.
ENHANCED SIGNAL PROCESSING
Using patented Radiodetection signal processing techniques the RD2000 product
range has the ability to reject unwanted signals in the most demanding
environments. Even with interference from overhead electrical cables and
congested sites, this enhanced Signal Processing ensures that the information
displayed is accurate and repeatable. Radiodetection locators lead the world in
performance and operation.
REAL SOUND
RD2000 provides "Real Sound". The sound you hear from the speaker is
derived from the cable or pipe. For the inexperienced user it is important to
distinguish the signal from the background noise that is radiated. "Real
Sound" makes this task so much easier.
BATTERIES
The RD2000 receiver uses just two "D cells" reducing the overall costs
of the unit.
