About The Training:
This FREE class will provide information on understanding how locators work and best practices for using a pipe or cable locator. Topics covered include, how a locator works, why it doesn't, operating a locator properly, confirming locate accuracy, accessories and type of locator needed. Locators vary from the earliest witching sticks up to and including magnetic locators and ground penetrating radar. This session will give a brief review on the effectiveness of each type of locator and their benefits and applications. The instructor will be Travis Beran of Subsurface Solutions and certificates of completion can be provided upon request.
The field component of the training will be conducted offsite but in close proximity to the meeting location. As this will be an outdoor activity, please dress accordingly (including weather appropriate clothing and safety vests). Additionally, please plan to bring the locator that is used in your organization if possible to expedite training.
